What ist CMD?
Mandibular Therapy
Cranio-mandibular dysfunction (CMD) is a misalignment between the skull (cranium) and the lower jaw (mandibula) – frequently with implications for the entire posture - from the cervical spine down to the feet. A misaligned bite may entail symptoms, such as cracking of the jaw joint, headache, migraine, tinnitus, and tensions in the spine and the entire locomotor system.
The masseter muscles are closely linked to the muscles of the spine. Through this connection, any disorder in the mandibular joint may trigger symptoms beyond the head and neck that affect the entire body. Even minor respiratory sleep disorders, such as snoring and sleep apnoea can be treated with individual bite planes as an alternative to common breathing masks.
